Actress Paula Patton is doing all she can to make her role as Garona in the upcoming Warcraft film as authentic as possible.

That includes an immense amount of physical training. In a new Warcraft Featurette, the actress goes into detail about her mentality on training for the film, saying: "I think that it's so important to be able to feel physically that you could do what your character is able to do."

Patton also spoke about her character, and where she's coming from, along with just how much work she had to do to feel confident in the role.

"Garona has lived in a world where she has to be tough to survive. She's a fierce, strong warrior-like person, and so the physical preparation, it was very daunting. It was two and a half hours of physical training six days a week, then we added two hours of stunt training and that's where I learned swordplay, knives, stakes."

Director Duncan Jones commended Patton on her enthusiasm to do as many stunts as she could, saying: "We have a terrific stunt crew, but Paula has been willing to just sort of throw herself into their care, so we've actually been able to do an awful amount of stuff in camera with Paula that normally you'd be using stunt people to do, so she's been fantastic."

Paula seems to be in good spirits about all the hard work, though, saying: "It's like any kids dream right? Is to be able to do things like this."

Warcraft opens in theatres on June 10th.
