2016 saw Margot steal scenes in Whisky Tango Foxtrot and The Legend of Tarzan before taking on her most popular role yet.

In the box office hit, Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie portrayed fan-favorite character Harley Quinn. Despite the critical bashing of the film, many praised Robbie's take on the character.

Combine her comedic timing with her newly-found status as an international superstar, and Margot Robbie seems like the perfect choice to host this season's premiere.

Ryan Reynolds

Many times, SNL will try to bring in premiere hosts that starred in the biggest films of the year. Was anything in 2016 as big as Deadpool?

The Ryan Reynolds film was a critical darling, and became an immediate hit in the box office. After its February release, the movie became the highest grossing R-Rated film in history. While the wallets of comic fans were a huge factor, it was the perfection of the character by Reynolds that made the movie such a landmark.

A Reynolds-hosted premiere would undoubtedly be a hit, but many fans have been wanting a little extra when the actor next appears on SNL.

After Deadpool hit theaters, a petition to have the Reynolds host the show as the character made waves across the Internet. With his quick wit, and foul mouth, Deadpool seems like the perfect SNL host. If only they could make an R-Rated episode...

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake has continued to rise in popularity over the last decade, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Since his days as the leader of N*Sync, Timberlake has had unparalleled success as both a singer and an actor. Everything the man touches turns to absolute gold. Then, it goes platinum. It seems that he can't do wrong.

His new single, "Can't Stop The Feeling", is the biggest song in the world, and has been for most of the summer.

As if that wasn't enough, Justin is a kind of regular on SNL. Having hosted five times, and appeared on numerous occasions over the years, Timberlake has proved himself as a welcomed addition to the show.

Chris Pratt

Like Margot Robbie, Chris Pratt has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last couple of years.

His role as Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation helped to kick-start Pratt's career, but 2014 gave him the role of a lifetime.

In the Marvel Studios hit, Guardians of The Galaxy, Chris Pratt wowed audiences with his hilarious turn as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. Not long after hitting theaters, Peter Quill and his team were all over the place.

Since the film, Chris has been handed the keys to numerous franchises, and has cemented his place among the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. He will be seen next alongside Denzel Washington, in the big-budget remake of The Magnificent Seven.

Even after all the adventures, Pratt remains a comedian at heart. He's crushed it as a host once, and he could definitely repeat the success.

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart has taken his place as America's favorite funny-man, and he isn't looking to give up the role anytime soon.

Each movie Hart chooses to star in turns into a hit at the box office, and his stand-up comedy specials have started selling out football stadiums. There isn't a single comedian in the world that people would rather see.

Not only has Kevin invaded our theaters and television sets, but his face is all over the Internet. No matter where you look, memes and gifs featuring the actor's face are plastered all around.

Kevin Hart and his hilarious antics are completely inescapable, but many people are perfectly fine with that.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Over the last couple of years, no actor has made more money, or appeared in more films, than Dwayne Johnson.

Sometimes a professional wrestler, sometimes an A-list actor, Johnson has taken his place atop the throne of Hollywood. With an infectious smile and enormous build, The Rock has the entire world eating out of the palm of his hand.

Starring in the upcoming Baywatch and Shazam! movies, Johnson looks to continue his stronghold on the American film industry.

His charm and style make him a perfect host for SNL, and he has done well in the role before. The producers can definitely smell what The Rock is cooking, and they can't get enough.

Jason Sudeikis

While world-class movie stars draw in big numbers for SNL, so do former cast members.

For many former members of the SNL family, the show is responsible for launching their careers. Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd have acknowledged this, and returned as hosts multiple times.

These episodes tend to be some of the more humorous of the season, and Jason Sudeikis has never failed to bring the laughs.

A member of the cast for many years, Sudeikis has always had a knack for taking the audience over the edge. He plays well with others, knows when to break character, and always brings another layer to the hilarity.

It's a shame that Sudeikis ever had to leave the SNL cast, but he's gone on to much bigger things.

Emelia Clarke

When it comes to television, it doesn't get much bigger than Game of Thrones. The HBO series has one of the largest fan-bases in the world, and many of its cast members are easily recognized.

Emelia Clarke has taken the world by force with with her portrayal of the Queen of Dragons, Daenarys Targaryen. As one of the show's most pivotal protagonists, Daenarys has been a mainstay on the series since the pilot episode.

Set apart by her talent, as well as her beauty, Clarke has become a pivotal figure in pop culture today.

Taking part in sketches and parodies of Game of Thrones in years past, it's clear that Clarke doesn't take herself too seriously. Her ability to joke around only adds to her overall appeal as a host.

Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, is one of the most talked-about actresses in Hollywood today.

After appearing in a couple of the Fast & Furious films, Gadot landed the role of Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe. She first appeared as the Amazonian Princess in Batman V Superman earlier this year, and her solo film is slated to release in early 2017.

It can be hard to hold your own on-screen with actors like Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, but Gadot emerged from the film as one of the new faces of comic book movies.

Stars don't shine much brighter than Gal Gadot these days, and her career is only about to get bigger.

Like we mentioned with Jason Sudeikis, former cast members come back and host some of the best episodes. That being said, there aren't many recent cast members greater than Kristen Wiig.

In her years on SNL, Kristen become a household name. By creating some of the most original characters in recent memory, Kristen Wiig changed the game for female comedians everywhere.

When we look back on SNL through the 2000's, Kristen Wiig will be one of the stars we remember most. In addition to her pivotal role on SNL, she also starred in numerous hit comedies that have been adored by fans.
