Star Wars fans all over the world were dealt a frustrating blow this week, when it was announced that Hasbro will NOT be including Star Wars: The Force Awakens / Star Wars: The Last Jedi heroine Rey (Daisy Ridley) in upcoming editions of the popular Monopoly board game. That announcement came after the toy maker had previously announced that it would be adding Rey to new editions of Monopoly in the US – only to pull back on that promise due to “insufficient interest” from consumers.

Well, one person who is taking particular exception to this latest Rey snubbing is none other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, who posted what we consider to be a perfect, mic-drop response to this latest controversy.

Taking to Twitter, Abrams posted the photo of a note (written on his own signature sticky note pad) in which he cleverly provides angry fans the means to take their complaints directly to Hasbro – by sharing the company’s customer service number to an entire world of fans!

The controversy with Rey has been ongoing, ever since The Force Awakens was released in 2015. While the character was heavily featured in the marketing for the film, she has famously struggled to be included in several areas of tie-in merchandise, to the point that an entire #WhereIsRey social media movement rose up to battle this clear case of gender inequality in the movie business.

For its part, Hasbro has tried to quell this fire of fan outrage by mostly splitting hairs; the company did add a Rey figurine to its Monopoly editions in several foreign markets, and has been supplying interested (or just angry) fans who contact customer service with Rey game pieces.

However, these special circumstances are still not quite the solution a lot of fans hoped for, as it still represents a major problem with the proverbial “Hollywood Shuffle” as it exists today.

Rey will next appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which currently enjoys a 3.97 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings. You can find the description for the film below.
