From Snowtroopers to Clone troopers to Death troopers, Star Wars sequels have a history of introducing audiences to all-new interpretations of the classic Stormtrooper armor, with The Last Jedi being no different. Originally seen in behind-the-scenes footage for the upcoming film, a recently released sticker book gives an even better look at the new trooper.

Discovered by Jedi Bibliothek, the new version of the First Order Stormtrooper includes an upgraded vibro-ax and has a black stripe on its helmet and black shoulder pads.
Prior to The Force Awakens, Stormtroopers relied mostly on long-distance weapons, as Jedi had virtually become a thing of the past. However, the events of the original trilogy clearly inspired the First Order to upgrade their arsenal, introducing the vibro-ax into their artillery to fight against the lightsaber.
This new weapon appears to be some sort of melee device, designed for close quarters combat. The behind-the-scenes footage above also displays that the weapon can open and close, possibly to be used to disarm adversaries of energy-based weapons.
The black stripe on their helmet and shoulder pads also distinguish them from the rest of their armada, but it’s yet to be seen if these troopers are meant to be more elite or if any other special classifications might come into play.
You can see The Last Jedi when it hits theaters on December 15.
