While everyone patiently awaits to learn the actual title of the new Han Solo spinoff movie, details have been scarce about the production of the latest Star Wars anthology film.

In the wake of Emilia Clarke‘s comments that the secrecy and protections surrounding the film—which is considerable, considering Clarke works on highly guarded sets for Game of Thrones—we’re surprised to learn some new, key details about the Han Solo story.
The details come from Making Star Wars after Jason Ward confirmed a few set reports in which a couple of character names in the new movie have been revealed.
One character name is revealed as Val, who Ward himself speculates could be played by Clarke but no source could confirm. Val is referred to as being played by one of the top billed actors, so it could be either Clarke, Thandie Newton, or Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The reports indicate the name Val was used on set at Pinewood Studios and that the character will be involved in some stunt and action-based scenes.

The other rumor says that another character is named Mother Proxima, who will be portrayed as a puppet. It’s said that this new character will be operated by Dave Chapman, who was one of the puppeteers of BB-8 (alongside Brian Herring) in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The report also speculates that though Chapman is puppeteering the new character, one of the previously announced women actors would provide the voice.
Ward says that there’s not much else known about the characters in the film, and that the names may not be accurate, but he himself feels like they are. And Ward does have a tendency to be correct with his Star Wars scoops.
Hopefully we learn more in the coming months—perhaps at Disney’s live-action film presentation for D23?
The untitled Han Solo spinoff movie will be in theaters May 25, 2018.
