When last we saw Rey in The Force Awakens, she fought for her own survival against Kylo Ren, supposedly one of the most ruthless fighters imaginable. Not only was she able to hold her own against him, but even managed to leave the Sith with a few injuries he won’t soon forget. In a recent The Last Jedi behind-the-scenes featurette released at D23, footage shows Daisy Ridley training for a battle sequence that is sure to rival her stand-off with Kylo, which you can see in the footage above.

In addition to the rigorous training of her character on display, one sequence in the montage shows Ridley taking on three threats simultaneously, using a lightsaber to fend off the foes. It’s unclear whether this could be part of her training on the island with Luke or a battle she embarks on, but the behind-the-scenes training definitely hints at an intense encounter.

To confirm just how intense the finished sequenced will be, Ridley herself reminded Fandango, “As we may have seen in the behind-the-scenes [footage], she’s fighting off not one, not two, but three people. There is an epic battle.”

During Rey’s encounter with Kylo, Finn (John Boyega) was injured by the Sith, incapacitating the newest member of the Resistance. Boyega happily revealed that Rey isn’t the only one with more intense battle sequences in The Last Jedi.

“It’s nice to be at a point where we can fight, there’s loads of running, there’s sliding down things…explosions, several different things that I’m excited for the audience to see,” detailed Boyega. “I think they deserve a strong Finn. They deserve a Finn that comes back and has chosen a side now.”

We’ll be able to see the full extent of what promises to be an action-packed adventure when The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
