A fan of The Walking Dead has recut the infamous introduction of Negan to the series to make it more accurate to its comic book source material.

As the original cut goes, the debut of Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s villain on the AMC series was quite accurately adapted from the comics in the first place. Still, a fan of the source material elected to remove the bonus kill of Abraham and have the scene play out with Glenn being the exclusive victim to Negan’s bat Lucille.
The scene, which starts with the same eeny-meeny-miny-moe game, sees the “it” land on Steven Yeun‘s Glenn rather than Michael Cudlitz‘s Abraham. From there, Negan beats “the holy hell” out of him, prompting Glenn to pop up and call out, “M-M-M-Maggie.” It’s exactly how it went down in the comics when the fan takes the extra “I’ll find you” bit out.
All of these things combined with the editor transforming the scene into a black and white edition, matching the art of The Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard, makes the recut worth watching.
The Walking Dead issue #100 is one of the title’s most famous, with the Season 7 premiere following its lead.
