Almost all of the show’s main characters were lined up on their knees and subjected to six long months of eeny-meeny-miny-moe as the new villain in town selected a victim to make his presence known.

Absent from the line-up but guilty of killing some of Negan’s men were Tara and Heath. The two played roles in raiding the first Saviors compound Rick was made aware of but elected to go on a two week long supply run rather than head back to Alexandria. In that time, Glenn and Abraham were killed and the Safe-Zone was left shattered as Negan took over.

Inevitably, the characters will meet Negan if they live long enough. However, they were fortunate enough to dodge his first appearance. Of course, had they been there, they would have had the same reaction as the rest of the group according to Tara actress Alanna Masterson.

“I think they would have been just as scared as everybody else,” Masterson said. “I don’t think they would have tried to be brave and tried to fight him in that moment. I think they would have experienced it the way the rest ofthe group did. They would have been devastated, also, losing Glenn and Abraham.”

Don’t worry Tara — there is still plenty of time for Tara to react to Negan. As for Heath, we’re not too sure that moment will ever come as his fate is up in the air.

The Saviors have, of course, already deeply effected Tara. Prior to Glenn and Abraham’s deaths, Negan’s buddy Dwight put an arrow through Denise’s face. Denise and Tara were developing a relationship together which almost never ends well in the apocalypse.
