The Walking Dead issue #157, more importantly dubbed as Part 1 of the Whisperer War story arc, has been fast-tracked to a second printing following an “overwhelming” response at Image Comics.

The Robert Kirkman written book featuring 16-pnael grids by Charlie Adlard set the stakes for the impending battle between the Alexandria, Hilltop, & Kingdom communities and the savage Whisperers. To conclude the issue, 16 of the main characters were seen on the final page in their current state. “Everyone featured on this last page will have drastically different lives five issues from now,” editor Sean Mackiewicz teased. “If they’re still living…”
Each issue of the six-part Whisperer War will feature a regular cover and a “Cover B” which will be able to sit side by side and create a collage of zombie fighting warfare with Carl, Lydia, Jesus, Rick, Michonne, and Negan battling the undead and Whisperers alike.
The Walking Dead #157, 2nd printing Cover A (Diamond Code JUN169197) and Cover B by Arthur Adams with colors by Nathan Fairbairn (Diamond Code JUN169198) will be available in stores on Wednesday, September 7th. The final order cutoff date for retailers is Monday, August 15th.It is available now for digital download and at comic book stores (if they haven’t sold out).
