The Walking Dead is back to take the world on another wild ride of event TV – starting with the reveal of not one, but two gruesome deaths in Rick Grimes’ survivor squad. The premiere was an intense exercise in breaking people’s wills, but with season 7 episode 2 we expect things to get a little bit lighter (at least by Walking Dead standards).

The second episode of season 7 will also address the question ignored by the premiere, which is: Where are Morgan and Carol now? As you’ll see in the international promo below, the answer is clear: Moran and Carol are part of The Kingdom now, under the rule of one King Ezekiel.
As you can see in the promo footage, not everything with The Kingdom is as nice and peaceful and green as it first appears. King Ezekiel has a dark secret – and it isn’t that tiger, Shiva, that we’ve seen in trailers and still images. There’s some sort of fiery ritual that Ezekiel and a few of his trusted companions carry out off-site, away from the kingdom. And the indication is that Morgan and Carol (or at least one of them) may stumble onto that secret.
Should we be surprised? By season 7, everyone on The Walking Dead and watching The Walking Dead should know that nothing is EVER as it seems. As Monty Python’s John Cleese joked in a hilarious TWD recap video: It’s a known rule on the show that NOWHERE IS SAFE.
