A Nashville, TN, man has taken his case to the local media to speak out about a Homeowners Association order to remove his five-year-old zombie statue from his lawn.

"During a recent inspection of the community on April 19, 2016, it was noted that there is a zombie in your yard that needs to be removed," a letter from the HOA reportedly says. The inspection may have been precipitated by changes in his yard, but if so it wasn't the zombie, which has been there for years. It would be the over $10,000 in work he's had done on his property recently.

"I think the homeowner's association needs to lighten up a little bit," homeowner Jim Grinstead told WKRN-TV Nashville. "We have a sense of humor and that is how we want the world to think of us. It's how we think of ourselves. People will stop sometimes and take pictures of Clawed. Our friends get a kick out of it when they come over and we've never had a complaint about him."
