The chit chat about Negan has been nonstop this summer but rightfully so. Robert Kirkman, writer and creator of The Walking Dead, has crafted one of the most iconic and brutal villains in comic book, TV, or cinematic history. The character originally spawned in comics four years ago and has only been on television for about 10 minutes, but still, people can't keep his name out of their mouths.

Today, it's The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd who is weighing in on the big villain set to wreak havoc in Season 7. Hurd knows a thing or two about villains, too. Prior to The Walking Dead, her producer credits included the Aliens movies, the Terminator franchise, 2003's Hulk and 2004's The Punisher.

"I think Negan is the ultimate villain," Hurd says definitively. "He's been the ultimate villain in the comic book, and I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is bringing him to life the way that I imagined because he is larger than life, he is charismatic, and he really enjoys what he does. He doesn't seem to have much of a conscience about it, and that's the kind of person we haven't seen before. Everyone else had a justification that they were reasoning as to why they did what they did, some of the evil things. They always had an excuse. Well, Negan rules."

Of course, Negan isn't the only character ready to shake things up in The Walking Dead's seventh season. Coming along to possibly do some good in Ezekiel, the leader of a brand new community. "We're also very excited to bring Ezekiel, the Kingdom, and his pet tiger Shiva to life," Hurd says.

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC. For complete coverage, insider info, and more all season long, be sure to follow me on Twitter @BrandonDavisBD and check out The Walking Dead on ComicBook.com on Facebook.
