The Walking Dead's deleted scenes from Season Seven were revealed when the Blu-ray collection arrived on Tuesday, but Simon actor Steven Ogg was involved in more than the one that's there.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Ogg shared some hilarious information about production of The Walking Dead's seventh season as well as some moments between him and Gregory actor Xander Berkeley.
"I know there was one episode in season seven that I was like, 'Oh, where'd all that go?'" Ogg said. "And talking to Mikey [Satrazemis] about it, the director, that episode: it's just a matter of time. He's like, 'We could have shot an entire episode of just you two,' and there was a lot that's in the cut scenes where they're just like, 'Okay, you two? Have fun.'"
Berkeley and Ogg, who quickly became roommates in Georgia while in town for The Walking Dead, have an unquestionable chemistry on screen together. "We don't go outside of the script," Ogg said. "You always stick to those words, but there was a lot that we were doing that was just so wonderful and fun, but you can't... There's so many characters, there's such a big world, that you can't have everything. So that's just the way it is, you only have X amount of time so not everything is going to make it, but there was just a lot of other stuff that was just, again, that was written that didn't make it, that was just exploring more of these two, and how they interact with each other and how they play with each other."
As for how they play with each other, Ogg wouldn't go into specific details, but he painted enough of a picture to assume it may have been entertaining to watch despite not fitting into this Walking Dead world. "Xander, when I made him kneel... We tried a few things with that, that were like, had us both in stitches and everyone was laughing, but it's like, 'No. We can't use that,'" Ogg said. "'Playing with his hair is enough. I don't think we need to do some of the other stuff,' that I was... I was playing with. They're like, 'Okay. Interesting choice. I'm glad you guys are comfortable with all of that. We can't use that.'"
Ogg's role in The Walking Dead can be caught in The Walking Dead: The Complete Seventh Season which is available on Blu-ray now.
