The Walking Dead has begun production on its eighth season as of last week. The AMC series has assembled its cast and crew in southern Georgia for more madness within the zombie apocalypse.

The Season 8 premiere also happens to be The Walking Dead‘s 100th episode overall, prompting relative newcomer to the series to share a photo from the new set on his Instagram account, congratulating Andrew Lincoln on the achievement.
The photo has since been deleted from social media, as it contains some potentially serious spoilers for the Season 8 premiere (or beyond). You’ve been warned!
On Set
The photo, which has as mentioned been deleted since posting, saw a trio of characters from Team Good Guys meeting in an unlikely location: Negan’s Sanctuary.
Throughout Season 7, Rick had never been to the Sanctuary. Based on one of the cast members being fully costumed, it’s feels safe to assume they were not just on set of the Sanctuary to hang out and watch others film, though the possibility remains. Could this be the time Rick finally leads a charge on the Sanctuary and strikes Neganย first?
It also reveals that in their potential march on the Sanctuary, all three communities will be united as they were in the Season 7 finale. With certain characters returning from their best known appearances late in Season 6,ย we can also conclude that the Hilltop will be represented if the photo is an accurate depiction of what’s to come in the Season 8 premiere.ย
With the cast assembling again for the first time in months, though, it is possible the photo was simply posted in excitement of the reunion.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead comics follow!
In The Walking Dead comics, Rick leads a charge on the Sanctuary in issues #115 and #116. Upon arrival, they learn that Gregory has ventured to the Sanctuary and, when pressured by Negan, tells the army waiting outside that the Hilltop stands with the Sanctuary, ordering his men to leave.
Only a small handful of soldiers leave Rick’s army and their numbers are still strong. A battle at the Sanctuary ensues which culminates to Sasha’s comic book counterpart being taken hostage and leading to a similar fate further down the line in the comics.ย
It sure does seem, based on the photo’s description, like the AMC series will adapt some form of this story line in the early episodes of The Walking Dead‘s eighth season!

Prior to the premiere of Season 7, The Walking Dead‘sย Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus shared a photo of himself and Andrew Lincoln on Instagram. The photo’s caption was changed to “Season 6” before the photo was ultimately deleted.
This image came during the “Who did Negan kill?” era. Through analyzing that post, some fans were able to deduce the fact that Negan’sย victim was to Rick’s right side based on the blood splashed across the actor’s face and many suspected it was either Maggie or Abraham. As it turned out, Abraham was the first victim for Negan.
With Reedus’ photo having been deleted like the one in this instance, it is safe to assume the new picture is from a new adventure coming up in an unseen episode of The Walking Dead and the details surmised from the costumed actors on set of the Sanctuary might be a small tip towards what to expect when the show returns.
