Just after filming began in Liverpool, it was announced that Aidan Gillen has officially been added to the cast of season four. The actor has starred in all six seasons of HBO‘s hit series Game Of Thrones, where he has been praised for his portrayal of Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish.

According to Deadline, Gillan isn’t the only new cast member being brought into the mix. Charlie Murphy – known for her roles in Happy Valley and The Last Kingdom – is also being added to the new season. Unfortunately, there was no more information given regarding the two roles.

In addition to this big news, the report also stated that another fan-favorite character would be returning to the series. Charlotte Riley is set to reprise her role as May Charlton, the horse trainer that almost stole Thomas Shelby’s heart in season two.

If you recall, May was last seen in the season two finale. As season three began, it was revealed that Tommy chose to be with Grace instead, and May hasn’t been heard from since.

All of this casting news comes on the heels of another announcement earlier this week. It was revealed that Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody was joining the cast, and that Tom Hardy’s fan-favorite character Alfie Solomons would be back for season four.

Creator Steven Knight couldn’t be happier about this cast that’s been assembled for the upcoming episodes. He had this comment regarding the today’s announcement:

“We have a dream team gathered for series four of Peaky Blinders, coming to us for love of the series which is great. Adrien Brody, Aidan Gillen and Charlie Murphy give us a wealth of talent to work with. And with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley returning, we couldn’t have hoped for more.”

New episodes of Peaky Blinders are expected to begin airing sometime in the Fall of 2017.

Game of Thrones penultimate season begins July 16.
