Cody Rhodes made his Ring of Honor debut last night at Final Battle, but it wasn’t without controversy. Leading up to this moment, Cody has performed under a face persona, but after his match with Jay Lethal the former WWE star went full rogue and kicked the former ROH World Champion right in the business. After hitting the Cross Rhodes on his opponent, Rhodes scored an upset victory getting his first win in the promotion.

But he wasn’t done just yet.
Cody disrespected the company’s famed “Code of Honor” and even taking a cup from a fan and throwing its contents all over ROH official Todd Sinclair. Following that, he then attacked Steve Corino and finally left.
What’s also interesting to note is that Cody has also signed with TNA Wrestling and with the Hardys making a surprise appearance at Final Battle, could we see more of a talent exchange going forward between Ring of Honor and TNA?
Rhodes has already been confirmed for four more dates on Ring of Honor’s touring schedule starting Sunday night to early February. Back in May after his WWE release, Cody posted a list of names that he wanted to wrestle in the independents and he’s already crossed a few of these off, so what’s the long game? Well, it could be positioning Cody up against some of ROH’s biggest names (like Adam Cole and Dalton Castle), but could he make it to the top in such a short amount of time? That remains to be seen for now.
