Tank Girl co-creator Jamie Hewlett has seemingly confirmed that the band is returning after a nearly four-year hiatus.
That backs up remarks made by Damon Albarn in an interview last year, suggesting that the "virtual band" would return to making music.
Below, you can see three images posted recently to Hewlett's Instagram account; in the comments below the black-and-white version of the Murdock image, Hewlett told a fan, "Yes. Gorillaz Returns," when asked whether that was the point of the images being released.
According to Revolt, that comment is visible only on the Instagram mobile app and not on the web.
