Sony studio Guerrilla Games, known for the Killzone franchise, is launching an all-new game for the PlayStation 4. Horizon: Zero Dawn kicks off a new franchise, and marks another trend for games this year at E3.

The game stars a female protagonist with long red hair and a bow, though she's not Scottish. Indeed, the world she lives in is very different from our own. In what's presented as a possible future, humans were nearly wiped out, and now live back in primitive tribal societies. They share the world with races of hyper-evolved machines. These machines look and act like giant, mechanized, animals, including a robo dinosaur that she fought in the gameplay debut.
