Ronda Rousey Wants To Play Ms. Marvel

The world already knew that Ultimate Fighting Champion Ronda Rousey was a Super Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z, but what if she was also one of the Marvel Universe’s mightiest superheroes?

Always looking for that next level, Rousey has revealed that she would love to play the Marvel Comics character Miss Marvel in a movie. When a Reddit user asked Rousey which superhero she’d love to play, Rousey responded “A lot of the good ones have been taken, but I’d like to vie for Miss Marvel!”

While Rousey said “Miss Marvel,” she most likely meant “Captain Marvel,” a.k.a. Carol Danvers, who has a movie slated with Marvel Studios in 2018. It’s a reasonable mistake, however. Carol Danvers went by the moniker Miss Marvel for years, before adopting the official Captain Marvel identity back in 2012. And given Rousey’s budding acting career, it’s possible that the role could happen.

Rousey, who recently rocked the world in a 34-second knockout UFC match last weekend, is also an unabashed geek, with equal love for Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, and Game of Thrones. So, she has our vote.

  1. No. That's just imbecilic. She's an athlete, not an actress... So, just being famous and liking totally unrelated things gives her your vote? That's probably the dumbest thing, in an already long line of dumb things I've heard this morning...

  2. She is both an athlete and an actress. Don't be imbecilic.

  3. So athletes could never become actors?  Why?  Isn't acting mostly charisma anyway?  Look at Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - how many movies has he made?  I wouldn't say he is a overly talented thespian, but for the roles he has played he does well.  Here is a list on IMDB of former athletes that have acted in movies - some bombs in there, but I think to discount Ronda Rousey JUST because she is an athlete is a disservice to her willingness to try.  Trust me - if she auditions and bombs they would not cast her just because of her athletic prowess and fame

  4. Keep her out of movies. The woman is a great fighter but a terrible actress.
