Dolph Lundgren, who played Frank Castle in the often-forgotten 1989 film, The Punisher, says he is open to returning to the Marvel universe and knows who he wants to play.

Lundgren told Nerdist that he has his eye on Cable, the powerful mutant with a messiah complex. He noticed that he shares a resemblance with the character and is fully-aware that Cable will be included in Tim Miller's Deadpool sequel.

That would work out perfectly. If you remember, Lundgren was name-dropped for the role of Cable in the Deadpool end-credits scene. "In the sequel, we're gonna have Cable. Amazing character," Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) shared. "Bionic arm, time travel. We have no idea who we're gonna cast yet but it could be anybody. We just need a big guy with a flat top. Could be Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Keira Knightley, she's got range, who knows?"

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool comes to Blu-ray™ and DVD today!
