August is here! This first week of our eighth month has lots of comic book action and goodness, so hold on, here we go! Marvel releases several big issues this week, with Captain America: Reborn #2 continuing the surprising events and twists from Captain America #600 and Reborn #1. Ultimatum's finale sees the release of two one shots, wrapping up the stories of the Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four in two separate Requiems. Black Panther kicks off it's second arc with issue seven, and expect an interesting run on the limited series Ghost Rider: Heavens Fire, which starts this week as well. Luke Cage is given an interesting solo story in the creative Luke Cage Noir #1, which sees the hero back home in the Prohibition era!

DC Comics' Vertigo line launches issue two of Greek Street, a new series with several chilling details, steeped in a mystery that's slowly unfolding. Speaking of new launches, DC proper is putting out Doom Patrol #1 this week, with a new story for a very unique team; check out the Metal Men in this issue too!! Double your reading fun! The hush hush Superman story Codename: Patriot begins in Superman: World of New Krypton #6 and will run through the August Superman books! Also be sure to pick up Justice League: Cry for Justice #2. This series packed a wallop with the first issue, and there are no signs of a let up!

Image Comics' Chew has been devoured by fans! Issue three will premier this week, along with a THIRD printing of the first issue and a SECOND printing of issue two! Now's your chance to catch up on the adventures of one of the world's most unique detectives! Tyrese Gibson adds comic book author to his long list of careers, as Tyrese Gibson's Mayhem #1 hits shelves! Buffy the Vampire Slayer #27 comes to us, courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, and fans of werewolf Oz will be delighted to see him aiding the Scooby gang on their latest adventure! Investigator Edward Grey's adventures continue in the Hellboy spinoff Witchfinder: In the Service of Angels #2.

Boom! Studios' Irredeemable has two releases this week. Issue five is released as well as the first collected trade paperback of this compelling series from writer Mark Waid centering on a superhero turned villain. Issue five is only $.99, so catch up with the first trade and issue five and be ready for issue six! Also look for Dynamite to produce The Boys #33 this week, the latest in their gritty and acclaimed series; also, look for number two of five of The Complete Dracula! Never a slow week for comics, so get to reading!
