Alexandre Aja, who recently directed the schlock-horror film Pirahna in 3D, is in negotiations to direct a film based on the Image Comics series Undying Love, according to Deadline.
Undying Love is a vampire series which is interspersed with Chinese folklore, wherein an American soldier falls in love with a Chinese woman but has to destroy her “maker” and free her from the curse before they can be together.
Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman share both writing and art duties. The pair have already written a script for the film, which will be produced by Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and L.A. Noir producer Michael DeLuca, along with Stephen L’Heureux and Benderspink. Aja is a writer in his own rite, having written several movies including High Tension and the 2006 remake of The Hills have Eyes.
