Last week, preview pages appeared online for an upcoming X-Men title, it appeared as though Hank McCoy, better known to fans as the blue-furred X-Man called Beast. Today's All-New X-Men #5 confirmed it. You can see McCoy hanging around with his younger self in the series, as All-New X-Men is the title that features the "First Class" X-Men transplanted to the present day, and so it could be interesting to see what his reactions are to the revelation that he'll be constantly mutating for the rest of his life. Costume changes are often controversial in superhero comics, but this one's likely to be kind of popular with the longtime fans. While the current look isn't exactly back to the popular George Perez version with the Wolverine hair, it's certainly far less cat-like than the most recent iteration. That's something that will please fans who have always been critical of the Morrison-era changes to the character's appearance. With the right artist, in fact, it could pass for the Perez look, just with an updated hairstyle.
