In an appearance on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, William Shatner was asked about some recent controversial remarks he made. Craig Ferguson asked, "Hey, what's that thing that you said about J.J. Abrams? You called him a pig or something. What's going on, man?" William Shatner replied, "No, I just said that he knew where his bacon was, because J.J. Abrams in his brilliance is going to be directing, producing, writing both franchises, Star Trek and Star Wars." Craig Ferguson added, "He doesn't have to choose. He's the only person that doesn't have to choose." William Shatner continued, "I know. He's there guiding both films." Craig Ferguson responded, "I think that is too much power, though." William Shatner interrupted, "That's all I meant. That's what I meant. J.J., it's bad for the heart." Craig Ferguson suggested, "There should be something in the constitution about it."
