Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Teaser Includes Stark Tower

While the S, T, R and K are still missing, as they were following the events of Marvel's The Avengers, Stark Tower--the setting of the climactic battle between Loki and the Avengers in the film--appears in the skyline of New York City in the recently-released Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. teaser trailer. The image at left comes from our friends at Super Podcasto Magnifico, reminding fans of what the building looked like before with the smaller, inset image while the landscape shows off how it looks now. The fact that the city is cleaned up and Stark Tower still rocks the standalone "A" probably lends some credence to theories that a lot of fans had after the release of The Avengers that the tower would be repurposed as Avengers Mansion, the residential and strategic headquarters of the team, for future films. Interestingly, we don't see Oscorp Tower here, even though the plan was at least at one point to include it in the skyline for The Avengers. The building, designed for The Amazing Spider-Man, wasn't completed on time to include it in the skyline of last year's summer super-team-up, but obviously it's long since completed by now and could have been included if Marvel and Sony were so inclined. Some fans had assumed that following the failure to merge the Marvel skyline in The Avengers, we might see Stark Tower in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and/or Oscorp Tower in future Avengers films. Since none of Iron Man 3 took place in New York, it was a decision nobody has had to make yet. Still, Oscorp logos appear in the background of a mobile Iron Man 3 video game.
