Exclusive: Mark Hamill And Jim Lee Talk Batman Toys On Pop Culture Quest

Mark Hamill is on a quest to meet the coolest pop culture collectors in the world, and ComicBook.com has an exclusive clip from Hamill's conversation with one particularly noteworthy collector, DC Comics co-publisher and iconic comic book artist Jim Lee.

In this clip from Pop Culture Quest, Star Wars star and pop culture collector and aficionado Mark Hamill meets with Jim Lee in his DC Entertainment office. Hamill notes at how all the DC Entertainment offices are stuffed full of pop culture artifacts and collectibles, and Lee's is no exception.

In the clip, fans can see statues and toys across Lee's desk, bookshelves full of comics and several stacks of overflow, and posters on the wall, all surrounding Lee's workspace, which includes both a desk and a drafting table.

"I've got too much stuff now, at this point," Lee says. "So you have to be kind of picky what you actually choose to bring home, what goes on the mantle above the fireplace, but for the most part its toys and things that meant something to me as a kid. Things I either couldn't get or I had that I completely because I played with it over and over again."

One such item that Lee spotlights is a Corgi toy replica of the Batmobile from the 1966 Batman television series. Originally sold for a few dollars during the height of bat-mania, when countless pieces of Batman merchandise of varying quality crowded store shelves, Lee recalls buying this particular item for $75 during a particularly lucrative time in his career. As noted in the clip, another Corgi Batmobile sold on eBay more recently for $600.
