Guardians Of The Galaxy Becomes Second Highest Grossing Movie of 2014 At Worldwide Box Office

Over the weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy passed Maleficent to become the second highest grossing movie of the year at the worldwide box office. Guardians of the Galaxy has now grossed $765.1 million at the worldwide box office.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the top grossing comic book movie of the year, passing by X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in recent weeks. The film is second to only Transformers: Age of Extinction, which has grossed $1.087 billion at the worldwide box office.

At the domestic box office, Guardians of the Galaxy is currently the highest grossing movie of the year by a large margin. Guardians of the Galaxy has grossed $329.3 million at the domestic box office. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is second at the domestic box office with $259.7 million.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 5, 2017.
