Gotham Veteran Lesley-Ann Brandt Joins Lucifer Pilot

Onetime Gotham villain Lesley-Ann Brandt has joined the cast of Warner Bros. Television's Lucifer pilot for FOX, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has confirmed via Twitter.

Reports earlier this week were that Brandt would replace Lina Esco in the role of Mazikeen.

Lucifer's best friend, and known by "Maze," Mazikeen is a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman, according to the initial casting.

In the comics, Mazikeen is one of the only people that Lucifer has genuine affection for. She has a unique face as one side is gorgeous while the other is disfigured. Her facial deformity is so bad that it impairs her speech. She was created by Neil Gaiman and first appeared in Sandman.

Brandt played Copperhead, a vicious assassin, in an episode of Gotham this season. Gotham stars haven't been shy about popping up in other DC adaptations on TV, either...and recently, breakout star Robin Lord Taylor expressed a desire to one day appear on The Flash.

Lucifer will tell the tale of Lucifer Morningstar, who is the Lord of Hell, but gets bored and decides to move to another hellish locale: Los Angeles. There he decides to help the local police put away criminals.
