Yesterday, Warner Bros. announced that Michelle MacLaren was no longer attached to direct their Wonder Woman solo film. The sudden break-up had many people wondering why and now Badass Digest is coming forth with what they've heard on the WB grapevine.
"MacLaren and Warner Bros couldn't agree on anything - including what time period to set the movie," reports Badass Digest. "More than that, MacLaren had some very particular visions for the film, visions that maybe would have alienated fandom. Although perhaps Diana having a tiger sidekick/pet she could talk with would have appealed to people more than I expect."
The fact is McLaren is super-talented director that has directed some of the best episodes of the best television shows, like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul. I have no clue if this tiger sidekick info is nonsense or not, but with her track record I would give her free reign to do as she pleases. She's earned it. WB didn't think so, though.
We'll get our first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which arrives in theaters March 25, 2016 and then the Wonder Woman solo film will be released June 23, 2017.
