Paramount is developing a live-action film based on Hasbro's Beyblade toy line, according to Deadline.

Paramount Pictures previously collaborated with Hasbro on Transformers and G.I. Joe live-action film franchises. They'll see if they can work their magic once again with Beyblade. Mary Parent will produce through her Disruption Entertainment banner.

From 2000 (first introduced) to 2005, Beyblade was one of the most popular global toy lines. Kids couldn't get enough of these spinning tops. They're fairly simple, you take the plastic spin top and pull on the rip-cord to produce the spinning action. Once that happens, the top launches into an area and begins to bang into your opponents top. The last top still spinning wins. There is a bit of strategy to it as picking which top to battle with can increase your chances of victory.

The toy line has generated $2.5 billion in revenue, and its popularity spawned video games, animated television shows and animated films.
