There are very few main marquee characters yet to make it to an X-Film, with Cable leading being one of the top spots of that list.

Since they've already tackled time travel and Apocalypse is looking to finally have an outing in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse, how long will it be before the one-eyed, cybernetic-limbed, gun-toting 90's bad boy get his turn? Deadpool's director Tim Miller implies not too long.

In an interview with Empire, Miller talks about the trailer breakdown and when discussing characters that were almost included (Garrison Kane and Cannonball), he mentions that Cable shouldn't be too far behind.

"There aren't really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don't put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we'll be run out of town on a rail."

Cable and Deadpool have a sort of best of enemies, worst of friends sort of relationship. Both were spawned out of New Mutants/X-Force and Marvel actually published a Cable and Deadpool comic a few years ago. Maybe if Deadpool's sequel is greenlit, their relationship can be explored from some samplings of that comic. Hey, maybe we'll even get Domino in the mix.

Readers, do you think Cable would be a good fit for a Deadpool movie, or would you rather see him tangle up with the X-Men?
