During a press event, Patrick Stewart, who has played Charles Xavier (aka Professor X) in Fox's X-Men cinematic universe, confirmed that he'll appear in Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine film and it is more than just a cameo.

"I think what you say is true," Stewart told Collider. "There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me."

Rumor has it, the plot will be loosely based on Mark Millar's Old Man Logan comic book storyline. When this brought up to Stewart, he replied, "And the idea of an old Wolverine – I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case."

Listen to Stewart's comments in the video below.

For those not in the know, Old Man Logan is a comic book story by Mark Millar (who coincidentally is involved as a chief consultant on all the Marvel movies at Fox. hmm) and artist Steve McNiven. The story takes place in a far future where Wolverine is the last remaining X-Man, living with a family to try to take his last days in peace. Some very bad things happen (no spoilers here) that lead to one heck of a final adventure.
