In American Horror Story: Freak Show, Wes Bentley (American Beauty, Ghost Rider) played Edward Mordrake, a man born with a second face on the back of his noggin. The second face is evil, whispering to Edward to perform wicked deeds. And on Halloween, Edward was driven so mad by his second face that he killed his fellow Freak Show performers and committed suicide. A legend soon formed, stating that any performance on Halloween by a Freak Show performer would summon the spirit of Edward Mordrake, and once he is summoned he will take one performer for his ghostly troupe.

Conceptual artist Joshua Min (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) was tasked with designing Mordrake's deformity and produced a nice selection of alternate versions of the fiendish face.

American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere October 7 on FX.
