Marvel Puzzle Quest Coming To Consoles Without Free-To-Play Mechanics

Two years after its debut on mobile devices, D3 Go has announced that Marvel Puzzle Quest is finally making its way to consoles.

Unlike its mobile version, Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign for Xbox and PlayStation will not be a free-to-play experience. Instead of juggling in-game currency and Iso-8 to purchase randomized packs of heroes and level them up, players will purchase the full game for $14.99 and earn heroes as mission rewards, levelling them up through play.

Marvel Puzzle Quest is a spin on the original Puzzle Quest's hybrid match-3 puzzler/RPG mechanics that uses Marvel heroes and emphasizes team building and synergy between multiple characters. The console version of the game will feature both online and local multiplayer.

Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign will arrive on consoles later this year.
