Glenn Howerton wasn't the only Always Sunny In Philadelphia star to be considered for Guardians of the Galaxy. During a Q&A session on Facebook, director and screenwriter James Gunn revealed that Danny DeVito (Taxi, Batman Returns) was tested to be the voice of Rocket Raccoon, the genetically-enhanced creature with tactical smarts and a whiz with gadgets.

A fan suggested that James Gunn replace Bradley Cooper, who voice Rocket in the first film, with Danny DeVito in the upcoming sequel. "Not gonna happen," Gunn replied. "In all honesty, Danny DeVito is one of the voices we tried out, but Danny DeVito is an older man now and Rocket is not an older man, he's a younger man. And Danny DeVito's voice just wouldn't work."

DeVito has done some voice-over work in his career, such as the title role in 2012's The Lorax, Herb Powell on The Simpsons and the Grundle King in My Little Pony: The Movie.
