Daniel Craig Would Only Play James Bond Again For The Money

After spending eight long-months filming Spectre has taken its toll on the 47-year-old English actor. He currently has absolutely no desire to even think about making another Bond movie. In fact, the very thought of it makes Daniel Craig want to off himself.

"Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists," Craig told Timeout London when asked if he could imagine making another Bond movie. "No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

Just because he can't imagine making another Bond film at this time doesn't mean Craig is ready to give up the role, however, the only thing making another go of it appealling is the money. "I haven't given it any thought," he said when asked if he wanted to move on from Bond. "For at least a year or two, I just don't want to think about it. I don't know what the next step is. I've no idea. Not because I'm trying to be cagey. Who the fuck knows? At the moment, we've done it. I'm not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money."

When Craig eventually moves on from Bond he has some advice for any actor offered the role of the British super-spy. "Literally I'd say two things," he explained. "Firstly, it's your decision. Don't listen to anybody else. Well, do listen to everybody, but you have to make the choice at the end of the day. It's your bed to lie on. And don't be sh*t! Don't be sh*t. You've got to step up. People do not make movies like this any more. This is really rare now. So don't be sh*t."

And advice for the actor that becomes the next Bond? "Don't be sh*t! Go for it. Embrace it," he offered. "Some clichéd line like that. But no, just make sure you're great. You've got to push yourself as far as you can. It's worth it, it's James Bond."

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond's actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot. As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.

Sam Mendes returns to direct SPECTRE, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as 007 for the fourth time. SPECTRE is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. The screenplay is by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth, with a story by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.

SPECTRE is set for release in the UK on October 26, 2015, and in the US on November 6, 2015.
