It looks like Super Mario Galaxy is headed to the Wii U’s Virtual Console.

The ESRB website has listed a new rating for the game, indicating that it will soon be coming to the Wii U eShop.

Super Mario Galaxy was yet another critically acclaimed 3D entry in the Super Mario Bros. franchise when it was released for the Wii in 2007. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is already available in the Wii U eShop, so it seems Wii U release for its predecessor was only a matter of time.

Super Mario Galaxy takes Mario out of the Mushroom Kingdom and into outer space, where he meets Rosalina, the watcher of the stars, and her Luma friends. The game took creative measures with the three dimensional platforming mechanics introduced in Super Mario 64 by playing with the idea of gravity.

While Super Mario Galaxy has been rated for the Wii U, there’s still no official release date. Keep your eye out for one soon.
