Absorbing Man - Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

Brian Patrick Wade will reprise his role as the villain Absorbing Man, Carl "Crusher" Creel," when Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns from its midseason break. Attentive viewers may have noticed the character in the promo for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midseason return.

Creel hasn't been seen since last season, when he was turned over to General Talbot in the episode "Heavy is the Head." Screen Crush's report notes that, in Creel's return, "it's unclear if he will be a friend or foe to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team."

The midseason premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,"Bouncing Back" introduces several new Inhuman characters of similarly ambiguous allegiance One of those characters is Slingshot, a member of the Secret Warriors team that was heavily teased ahead of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Season 3 premiere. In the comics, Absorbing Man's son, Stonewall, is recruited onto the team. Perhaps this is what brings Creel back into play, or perhaps the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. version of the team will include Absorbing Man in Stonewall's place.

While he never appeared on screen, Creel was referenced in the Netflix's Daredevil as the opponent of Matt Murdock's father, Jack Murdock, during the boxer's pivotal and final fight.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on March 8.
