By now, everyone should be fully aware that Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) chose to stay in character throughout the filming of Suicide Squad. And because the Oscar-winner's character happened to be The Joker, his fellow cast members had to put up with some bizarre antics.

"I did interact, but I did it through the eyes of The Joker—which is really fun," Leto told TNT Brasil. "It was fun to play that game." He was then asked about the challenge of making a new Joker. "It was interesting to take on this challenge," he said. "It was unlike anything I've ever done before."

Lastly, he was asked to share his thoughts on the film's director, David Ayer. "He's great! He's an animal. I love him," he gushed.

Listen to Leto's comments in the video below.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?

Suicide Squad is set to be released August 5, 2016.
