Marvel's Captain America: Civil War is trying to deliver a monumental impact on the screen when it releases later this year, but Marvel, Emily VanCamp, and Elizabeth Olsen are also trying to make an impact in the lives of young women.
Marvel, in conjunction with the National Academy of Sciences and The Science and Entertainment Exchange, are launching a new program called Girls Reforming The Future. The program allows young women 15 to 18 and in grades 10 - 12 to submit any type of project that could possibly benefit humankind. The only other rule is it has to integrate STEM, which is shorthand for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
After you finish the project, you will just need to submit a video demonstrating it in action and explaining why and how this would benefit the world, along with how you used STEM to complete it. Five finalists will be chosen and will receive a $500 savings account, a trip to Hollywood to present your project to leaders in the field at Marvel Studios, involvement in a live global webinar, a walk down the red carpet at Civil War's premier, and a tour of Walt Disney Studios.
That's an impressive haul on its own, but one lucky winner will receive the ultimate prize in an internship opportunity at Marvel Studios.
