Legendary Superman writer/artist Dan Jurgens has been tapped to head up the twice-monthly Action Comics for DC Comics's Rebirth initiative.

Jurgens, arguably best known for writing and drawing the best-selling The Death of Superman and for creating charactes like Doomsday, Booster Gold, and the Cyborg Superman, will write the story of the Superman, Lois Lane, and Jonathan Kent Jurgens is currently working on in Superman: Lois and Clark coming to Metropolis.

The series will have a separate Clark Kent and a separate Superman, "And it's not the way you think," Jurgens said.

The series will see Superman square off with Doomsday and Lex Luthor -- as he does in this week's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
