Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is coming to Television, and now it is confirmed that Actor John Krasinski has taken on the fan favorite role via Deadline.
Amazon is producing the series along with Paramount TV and is expected to order a full order of the series. The project will be Executive Produced by Carlton Cuse (Lost) Graham Roland, Lindsey Springer, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, and franchise producer Mace Neufeld. Krasinski will be working with Michael Bay again as well, as Bay's Platinum Dunes, along with Skydance Media, will be producing the show. The pair recently worked together on 13 Hours.
This time around the focus will not be on a particular book in the Jack Ryan saga, but rather will center around a Ryan early in his career with the CIA. The show will use the books as source material, though, and Clancy fans know there is a lot to pull from.
Krasinski definitely has the temperament to pull off the role, and will be the fifth actor to play the character, which includes Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and most recently Chris Pine. All of them brought something to the role, but hopefully, this is the one that sticks.
