Cartoon Network has concocted an epic mixture of sugar, spice, and everything nerdy to serve excited fans at this year's San Diego Comic Con. The popular channel is promising fans they’ll get some awesome new updates on hit shows such as Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls, and more.
With its packed schedule, Cartoon Network has tons of special panels lined up to whet the appetites of their fans. Most excitingly, the network has announced they’ll be hosting a Steven Universe sing-along panel. That’s right, the hit series' stellar soundtrack will be coming to life on July 22nd as the show’s cast and crew will be in attendance. And, as Grammy Award-winner Estelle voices Garnet on Steven Universe, the panel is guaranteed to sound amazing. A Q&A will follow the live musical so long as everyone's voices stay in-tact and all.
Cartoon Network will also be hosting two other panels for We Bare Bears and The Powerpuff Girls respectively. The cast of We Bare Bears will be making their first-ever appearance at SDCC this year, and the show’s panel is teasing that it'll be airing sneak peek clips of an upcoming series, Mighty Magiswords. As for The Powerpuff Girls panel, the reboot’s creators and cast will take the stage to talk about the franchise’s long, quirky history.
The network will also be bringing its Screening and Costume Ball back after a hiatus. The event will give fans an inside look into Cartoon Network’s impending line-up, and specifically, the network will show a teaser for its next global installment of Ben 10. Other shows such as Teen Titans GO! and Justice League Action will also appear at the convention. And, on July 23rd, Adventure Time fans can partake in an all-day Card War Tournament where John DiMaggio, who voices Jake the Dog, will commentate the event.
With SDCC's stages getting more competitive by the year, Cartoon Network is doing all they can to reel fans into its events. By promising an 'Ultimate Fan Experience,' the network is going all-out to remind people why the channel stands as the premiere network for all things cartoon.
