At the Injustice 2 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, a new trailer was revealed showing off the next two roster confirmations. Wonder Woman was confirmed - a somewhat obvious reveal, sure, but with new moves and armor to show off, her first look still excited fans in attendance at the panel. The brand new character, however, was Blue Beetle - the Jaime Reyes edition. A natural fit thanks to his metamorphic armor and the game's new armor mechanics, Reyes brings youth to the dystopian world of Injustice as well.

The trailer shows the two of them fighting each other, and Blue Beetle's banter is all youthful, as he looks for encouragement from Wonder Woman throughout the battle, and during a super move even opens up his mask and shows his smiling face.

Creative Director Ed Boon assured fans that he and his team are listening to character requests, though the story of the game comes first in choosing characters.

Injustice 2 is coming in 2017, along with a new tie-in digital-first comic that sees the return of writer Tom Taylor to the series. The comic will take place between the two games, acting as "chapter three of the four chapter story so far," Boon said.
