It’s hard to believe that October will mark the one-year anniversary of when Marty McFly went back to the future, introducing the character to the wonders of our new millennium. Arriving on October 21st 2015, Marty and Dr. Emmett Brown embraced the future’s amazing toys in Back to the Future II, and now Hot Toys has released a line of character figures to celebrate the film.

Hot Toys uploaded a handful of photos to their official Facebook page which showcase two new collectible figures: Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly. The 1/6th scale figures align with the company’s other hyperrealistic pieces as each character looks identical to their on-screen counterpart. Brown can be seen wearing his iconic yellow duster along with a bright red Hawaiian button-up. As for Marty, he comes complete with grey kicks, loose jeans, and a futuristic leather-and-canvas jacket.

In their posts, Hot Toys provides two product descriptions for the figures which can be read below:

“The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett Brown in Back to The Future Part II. It features a newly developed head sculpt, sophisticatedly tailored “futuristic” costume, wide variety of detailed accessories, and a figure stand.”

“The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly in his 2015 outfit in the film. It features a newly developed head sculpt, meticulously tailored costume including the iconic futuristic running shoes, a selection of detailed accessories such as hover board, multi-color cap, future soft drink bottle, sports almanac, and a specially designed dynamic figure stand perfect for hover board skating poses.”

Honestly, it’s kind of difficult to differentiate the figures from the characters themselves. Marty’s piece looks so much like Michael J. Fox that some fans are surely wondering whether it’ll get up and start hoverboarding at a moment’s notice. And, amazingly, Hot Toys nailed Christopher Lloyd’s expressive eyes as the actor’s figure features Brown’s suprised face.

Hot Toys emphasizes that, “Back to the Future Trilogy fans simply cannot pass up on the opportunity to add the time-traveling duo to your treasured collection,” and they’re certainly right. Whether you’re a collector or a casual fan, adding these figures to your pop culture collection would give you some timeless additions.
