For many Power Rangers fans, they felt a bit uneasy when Lionsgate announced they were pursuing a new live-action adaptation of the iconic television show. The feeling only grew after the studio released its casting decision, revealing their plan to hire unknown actors for Power Rangers' very famous roles. But, now, Ludi Lin wants to ease fans who fear he's not totally up for the role of Zack, the Black Ranger.

It's beyond great to see. Seriously, the actor looks like he'd be willing to take on Rita Repulsa bare-handed.

In a recent interview with Five Four, Ludi spoke about his career and discussed how filming for Power Rangers went.

When asked why he decided to pursue acting, Ludi answered with a small laugh, saying, "My mom used to be an actress, and then she forbid me from becoming an actor. So, then, I had to do it."

And, once Ludi was asked about shooting Power Rangers, the actor had this to say about his beloved role:

"Well, I did a lot of my own stunts. The director was wonderful. We just worked as a team to work out what I can do and what I can give to the character. I wanted to develop something very different for the character because the character is the first Chinese superhero. I didn't want him to be a typical Kung-Fu, Wushu fighting pretty kicks. I wanted something powerful because it's a sexy character as well."

Born in Fuzhou, China, Ludi has openly talked about the pride he has over playing a Chinese superhero. And, with Hollywood's lacking diversity growing more transparent, Ludi's casting is definitely a welcome change. Still, there are fans who're unhappy with Ludi's involvement. Following Lionsgate's casting reveal, some fans have been vocal about their resistance to Ludi as they wish an African-American actor had been chosen to inherit The Black Ranger's legacy. Most fans, though, are simply interested to see what new and exciting things Ludi will bring to the role.

Unsurprisingly, Ludi is ready to prove any of his naysayers wrong. And, come March 24th 2017, fans will get to see for themselves whether the young actor pulls it off. But, to be honest, many fans already believe the actor will pull though for die-hard Power Rangers fanatics.
