After a long summer off, Arrow is finally back to its rightful place on Wednesday nights. Season five is looking to get back into the good graces of many fans, and the early footage from the season makes you think it will do just that.

In addition to spearating Team Arrow, and dealing with that dynamic, season five is bringing some new characters into the mix. We've seen the first footage of the new gangster in Star City, Tobias Church, as he mixes in with rival gangs.

In the latest clip from the premiere, we get our first look at Star City's newest vigilante. Take a look!

Oliver and Felicity are doing their best to stop Anarky from setting off a series of bombs across the city. Green Arrow puts a device into the bomb, so Felicity can work from the other end, and he goes to take out Anarky.

When his work is done, he turns back toward the bomb to notice a man in a hockey mask playing with it. After a shouting match, and a beatdown, Oliver leaves the man with a bolt in his leg.

The character in question is named Wild Dog. He first appeared in his own, self-titled series, and he is another night-time vigilante. The former football star, and military veteran, turned to the masked lifestyle to try and do some good here in the states.

It's clear Arrow doesn't want Wild Dog's help, even though he assures Ollie that its all he wants to do. Whether Oliver sees Wild Dog as a threat, or he doesn't want him to get hurt, he is definitely against having another sidekick.

Arrow returns for its fifth season on Wednesday, October 5 at 8pm ET on The CW.
