The Power Rangers are once again heading to the big screen, and with all the benefits and visual effects that current cinema brings. Still, there is a nostalgic and rather amusing charm that the original series still carries, and the two have been mashed up perfectly in a new retro trailer.

The trailer was created by Darth Blender, and pits the original Angel Grove attendees from the 1990's with the thematic and dialogue overlay of the newest trailer. The juxtaposition works splendidly, as the epic backing track is paired over things like Kimberly jumping barrel or Zack dancing his way to victory in a dancing contest. it's absurd and awesome at the same time.

Of all the things apparent in the trailer, the most is how dated Zordon's headquarters has become. Seriously, it looks like they sell couches and beds at a cheap and affordable price as opposed to the ultra secret headquarters for the Power Rangers.

You can view more of Darth Blender's work on the official YouTube page.

"Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge ob being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it's too late, band together as the Power Rangers."

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
