For the past week, director Michael Bay has been filming explosive battle scene for Transformers: The Last Knight in Bourne Woods (located south of Farnham, Surrey, England). The battle scene, as you can see in the set videos above and below, appears to be set in medieval times and features knights, dressed in full-armor, on horseback and off charging into battle.

Rumor has it: Merlin, King Arthur, and his legendary sword, Excalibur, will play an important part in the film and even interact with Transformers. Adding credence to the latter portion of the rumor, the set videos show some massive explosions that don’t fit with the time period. Perhaps, these troops, with their primitive weapons, are going up against an invading Decepticon army?
We’ll probably know more in November or December. That’s when the first teaser trailer will arrive, according to Bay.
The cast of Transformers: The Last Knight features Mark Wahlberg (Planet of the Apes) as Cade Yeager, Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School) as Izabella, Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It) as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Seymour Simmons, and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) as Robert Epps, as well as Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The voice cast includes Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane) as Hound.
Michael Bay, who has directed the previous four installments in Transformers live-action film franchise, returns to direct the fifth installment. Transformers: The Last Knight was written by a trio of screenwriters: Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan.
The Paramount and Hasbro partnership is responsible for the worldwide blockbuster success of the Transformers franchise, which has earned $3.8 billion to-date, and whose films, directed by Bay, are amongst the highest grossing movies of all time.
Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release June 23, 2017.
