The Walking Dead's Season 7 premiere has come and gone. With it, Negan's kill was finally revealed and the aftermath has begun.

However, absent from the episode were Morgan and Carol. The characters were last seen in the Season 6 finale, Carol being on a suicidal mission and Morgan refusing to let her die. The two were found by men in combat gear who seemed genuinely friendly - a major change from most characters we meet on the AMC series.

So, where are Morgan and Carol?

The next time we see the characters, we will be taken to The Kingdom. This was previewed in the Season 7 trailer released at San Diego Comic Con in July.

In the comics, The Kingdom is another established community lead by a man named Ezekiel and his loyal tiger, Shiva. It's on a college campus not far from Alexandria. During the winter, the residents live in the school but in the summer they set up in tents around the protected campus.

Ezekiel was a former zookeeper, though he talks to his people with respect and a kingly attitude. No one, not even the residents of The Kingdom, are allowed to see Ezekiel without an escort.

Much of The Kingdom is left unexplored but several times during the All Out War storyline where Rick takes on Negan, groups held meetings to discuss how they would rally against the Saviors. Eventually, the people of the Kingdom elect to move to the Hilltop. It still exists, though, and is connected to the other communities by a reinforced road.

The Kingdom is expected to be introduced in episode 3 of Season 7. Executive producer and VFX guru Greg Nicotero directed the upcoming hour and also tackled the special effects behind Ezekiel's tiger.
